Well, it seems British holidaymakers have just earn the ‘title’ of the worst behaved tourists in a number of countries. Official foreign office figures showed that just over 2 000 Britons were arrested in Spain last year, more than any other country in the world other than the UK itself.
Hundreds more holidaymakers also found themselves in trouble with the law in other countries like Cyprus, Greece, America, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates according to a report on the nation’s behavior abroad.
Too much beer and drunken and disorderly behavior seems to be the number one problem with the British holidaymakers.
Foreign Office Officials were called on to deal with 5 470 serious issues involving British citizens including just under 700 who ended up in hospital, 1 591 who died and 29 who reported a rape.
Cyprus, another destination popular with holidaymakers is another country were British national are proportionally more likely to be arrested, ahead of America and the United Arab Emirates, a popular transit point for planes to the Far East where many travellers with small amounts of drugs on them have been arrested.
It seems British holidaymakers have got themselves a not so nice ‘title’ of the Worst Behaved tourists.
