Superb views from Newlands Corner

Throughout Surrey there are many beautiful open spaces that people can visit and enjoy the beautiful wildlife. Over the weekend I went to Newlands Corner in Guilford. The views that get from Newlands Corner are just beautiful, there is an open downland covered with wildflowers and a vast woodland. Newlands Corner and the nearby areas of St Matha’s Hill and Silent Pool provide some of the most beautiful scenery and are some of the popular areas in Surrey.

There is a visitors centre were you can get maps, books and leaflets with very useful about the countryside and other areas managed by Surrey Wildlife Trust.

The famous novelist Agatha Christie is said to have stage her disappearance from the area of the Newlands Corner in 1926 causing a huge search of the Albury downs.

There are Self-Guided Circular Trails: The Deer Trail which takes about 45 minutes, Butterfly Trail takes about 1 hour and there are also other Trail routes to choose from. Maps are available to guide you through the trail routes.

There is a snack bar just in case you want a cup of tea, coffee and other refreshments. The facilities are also suitable for wheelchair users.
