Advice for holidaymakers – Know Before You Go

The UK foreign office has launched a campaign urging Britons to dress appropriately and respect local customs when on holiday in other countries.

Different countries have different customs and laws, and holidaymakers need to be aware and familiarise themselves with these laws and customs to avoid getting into trouble and spoil your holiday. From women sunbathing topless abroad, having sex in public and even checking into a hotel with someone you are not merried to, holidaymakers do it without realising i maybe an offence in some countries. So, have you ever been caught on the wrong side of the law whilst on holiday? It can be a nasty experience, some have ended up in prison.

The Ha Ha Ha – Valentines Park

Just seen this place called The Ha Ha Ha in Valentines Park. The weather is too good in London today and for now I will go for walk with my son, but will find out more about this Ha Ha Ha! The park is quite big and to think I did not discover this natural beauty all these years.

London is beautful when the weather is this good. People do enjoy themselves and who can blame them after one of the coldest winters in history. But what’s wrong with the big Swan chassing ducklings?? Unfortunate I didn’t take video camera with me, I could have captured it on video. But it was a lovely day in the park with my son.

This is not how to behave in front of the Queen

A couple was arrested for having sex on the lawn of Windsor Castle. Well, the Queen was not watching. But this is not the way to behave in from of the Queen’s residency, to be specific on the lawn of Windsor Castle. Even ignoring the ‘Keep Off’ the grass sign. This happened in daylight beneath Garter Tower, in full view of tourists and the busy Windsor High Street’s hotel, pubs and shops across the road.

The couple who appeared unsteady on their feet were arrested for their disgusting public behavior. And I’m surprised the police say the pair are “respectable people with respectable jobs” and the pair were said to be ‘mortified’ by their actions once they sobered up.

Surely that’s not how respectable people behave, especially in public. Disgusting!

Britain’s top five affordable bank holiday destinations

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been named Britain’s favourite most affordable bank holiday attraction. London’s Natural History Museum is second on the list of the top affordable holiday attractions. As we are set for 3 months of hot weather in the summer, a family day out should not cost a fortune.

Here are the top five affordable bank holiday attractions in Britain.

1. Blackpool Pleasure Beach
2. Natural History Museum
3. River Lee Country Park, Essex
4. Tate Morden, London
5. Xscape Castlefield, West Yorks

I’m sure some people will prefer other holiday attractions which have not made it onto this list. After all we all have different taste, but Blackpool is a beautiful place to go. I never seem to get enough Blackpool, will be going back to this area in the next school term break.

Wherever you go for holiday break, make the most of it relax and enjoy yourself. That’s what the holiday break is all about isn’t it?

Are you brave enough to try Bungee Jumping over the Zambezi River

111 metres of adrenalin rush! Watch the video.

I must admit I find this bungee jumping very scary. Some have described it as the best bungee jump in the world with a 111 metre plummet towards the Zambezi river. The bungee jumping is off the Victoria Falls Bridge and has a 100 per cent safety record.

Would you bungee jump? I’m still thinking about whether I would ever do it.

Beijing Olympics and Tourism

In most cases when a country is hosting a major event like the Olympics there is an expected boast to the country’s tourism sector. However it seems this has not been the case with China. Apparently the Olympic Games is proving to be a turn-off for travellers, leading many hotels and airlines to slash their prices to try and lure last minute visitors to Beijing.

About 2 million tourists were expected to flock to the Chinese capital for the Olympics which start on August 8, but the city’s tourism authority says visistors numbers are down 20 percent on last year.

With many hotels remaining empty, their are reports that some airlines and hoteliers have dropped their prices by more than 50 percent. In February, Air China was charging £1,200 for a return flight and now the price has gone down to £503.

It’s thought people are staying away because of security fears, fears over pollution, visa problems, China’s handling of the Tibet situation and the bite of the credit crunch are also being blamed.
